Thapar University's MBA placements are pretty solid.
Top companies visit, the the highest package goes above ₹20 LPA, and the average for good performers is strong.
Overall: Great exposure + good ROI, especially if you're proactive with skills and internships.

Thapar: Avg package ~ ₹10.15 LPA for mech.
Amrita Coimbatore: More varied placements, average BTech package is ~₹9.08 LPA.
Which to pick?
Pick Thapar if you want stronger core engineering exposure + good campus reputation.
Pick Amrita if you want a balance of good placements + a possibly lower course cost + slightly broader peer network.
