In order to apply to the University of West London (UWL), candidates must fulfil certain prerequisites, which can change based on the programme and academic level (undergraduate or graduate). One of the general prerequisites for undergraduate programs is a high school Diploma or its equivalent with acceptable grades. The majority of programs need applicants to have at least five GCSEs, including English and math, at grade C or higher, as well as A-levels (or equivalent) that satisfy the prerequisites for the particular course. Additional documentation may be required from international students, such as evidence of English language competency from exams like the IELTS (minimum score of 6.0–6.5, depending on the program) or comparable credentials.

Although some programs may have greater prerequisites, applicants for postgraduate programs usually need to have a relevant undergraduate degree with at least a 2:2 classification (or equivalent). Postgraduate candidates can also be required to submit references, a recent CV, and a personal statement. Certain prerequisites or qualifications may be necessary for some programs, such as those in the healthcare industry.

Depending on the programme (e.g., MBA, Executive MBA, or Masters in Finance), applicants must fulfil a number of conditions before they can be considered for admission to London Business School (LBS). Strong academic credentials, usually a 2:1 undergraduate degree or its equivalent, are a prerequisite for the MBA program, while candidates with a variety of educational backgrounds are also taken into consideration. Candidates must have at least two years of full-time job experience, though many have more. They should also have a track record of professional accomplishments and leadership potential. A competitive GMAT or GRE score is necessary, though exceptional applicants may be granted a waiver by the school. 

International students must be proficient in English; the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE are accepted tests, unless the applicant holds a degree from an English-speaking university. The two essays that applicants must submit also give them the chance to highlight their reasons for applying to LBS, as well as their career aspirations and ambitions. Additionally needed are two letters of recommendation, preferably from academic or professional sources that can attest to your achievements and leadership abilities.

Once students have enrolled at LMU London, they can become member of the Students' Union. After joining the university, students can join a society or get involved with the student media hub. The facilities at the university includes a full-sized basketball court, a dance studio, etc. LMU also offers a student venue, namely, the Rocket, which is a great place to meet friends and relax between lectures.
