In order to apply for BS at IIT Kanpur, candidates are required to go through the official application of JEE Main followed by applying for JEE Advanced. The total fee for the four-year BS programme of IIT Kanpur is INR 8 lakh. This is inclusive of the one-time admission and caution deposits but is not inclusive of the hostel fee. Other than this, students are required to pay the JEE Main application fee which is INR 625 (for boys) and INR 325 (for girls). Candidates seeking admission to BS at IIT Kanpur must have a valid score in JEE Main, JEE Advanced and go through JoSAA counselling for final admission. Admission is completely entrance exam-based and candidates seeking admission can not get into IIT Kanpur with only the scores of JEE Main. JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling is the mandatory requirement. Additionally, to be eligible for the BSc programme, students are required to have passed their Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate with Science subjects (i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). 

IIT Kanpur offers a four-year BS degree (Bachelor of Science) which is also referred to as BSc by many. At the undergraduate level, IIT Kanpur offers this programme in full-time and it provides both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Science. Available across six specialisations, admission to this programme is entrance exam-based (JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced). 

The university shortlist candidates for BCA course based on their merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate can apply for the BCA course. After completion of the selection rounds, the shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants must pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the university. The total course fee for BCA ranges between INR 2.40 Lacs and INR 2.90 lakh. The fee varies as per the specialisation. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled.
