The Professor is very senior post in Universities and required the minimum 10-15 years of experience in Assistant Professorship. There is no direct recruitment on the post of Professor and generally promoted among the Assistant Professors. The basic steps involves in become as professor are given below. Eligibility to become Professor :
The eligibility criteria which must be fulfilled to become a Professor is given below:
1. The candidate must have passed 10+2 in any stream from a recognised board.
2. The candidate must have passed a graduation/ post graduation level degree in any stream from a recognised institute.
3. The candidates can also go for a Ph.D. degree in the preferred stream to avail a career path in Research-based institutions.
4. Qualifying UGC NET is necessary if you want to take this profession.

The IAF can be joined through the following channels and the eligibility criteria is also given below.
1. Eligibility criteria through NDA 10+2 with PCM.
2. Eligibility criteria through CDS Applicants need a degree of a recognised university ( with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2) or a Bachelors degree in Engineering.
3. Eligibility criteria through AFCAT Minimum 50% marks in each in Maths & Physics at 10 + 2 level. And
Graduate (Three Year Course) in any discipline from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent. BE/B Tech (Four Year Course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks or equivalent. So from above you are not eligible for IAF.
