Centurion University (CUTM) is a decent, mid-tier private university.
The Verdict on CSE (AI & ML)
Good for Basics: They offer updated, hands-on, skill-focused labs for AI/ML.
Self-Study Required: While the faculty is supportive, you will need to self-learn advanced concepts independently to secure high-paying tech roles.

Yes, you can get direct admission, but your options will be limited to Tier-3 private engineering colleges.
The Law is on Your Side: The standard AICTE baseline eligibility for B.Tech is 45% in PCM (40% for reserved categories). At 49.33%, you legally qualify.
Where You Can Go: Many local private colleges affiliated with state technical universities fill vacant Computer Science seats directly via Management Quota or Spot/Institutional Rounds just using your 12th marks.
Where You Can't Go: Tier-1 and Tier-2 colleges (like NITs, VIT, or top state colleges) usually require a hard minimum of 50% to 75% in 12th

VIT Pune (B.Tech IT) is the clear winner here.
Why.
Location: Pune is a massive IT hub, giving you a huge advantage for local internships, networking, and off-campus jobs. VIT Bhopal is isolated on the Bhopal-Indore highway.
Placements & Legacy: Established in 1983, VIT Pune has a deeply rooted alumni network and excellent direct campus placements (Average: ₹9–10+ LPA). VIT Bhopal (2017) relies on centralized VIT drives alongside thousands of students.
Branch Flexibility: Core IT keeps you eligible for almost all software developer and engineering roles. A cybersecurity specialisation can narrow your early career entry points.

JEE is not compulsory for admission to engineering colleges in Karnataka. You should have written KCET ( which is not applicable as you are not from Karnataka) and Comed K for non Karnataka students. If you have not written either of them you can join through management quota subject to seat availability.
