The placements for NIT-MCA are one of the best in the country. Students have bagged offers as high as 60 LPA and the placement percentage usually remains between 90% to 100%. However, this does not mean that you will get an offer in 7 digits salary. Placement packages vary from company to company.
Simply speaking, if you have studied at least what was taught in the class, have cgpa good enough to satisfy the Eligibility criteria of the companies, you have fair chances of getting a good enough job offer.
The MCA course at IIT Roorkee has sadly been discontinued since last year. Last few batches of MCA are going to pass out in the next couple of years. Still I am going to answer the question assuming a hypothetical situation where in the course may get restarted next year.
The placements are a mixed bag. Most companies do not know about the MCA course and hence do not open it. It is up to the placement representative of the MCA batch to educate the Central Placement Team guys about MCA and get as many companies to be opened as possible. You do get to sit for some of the top companies like MS, Amazon, Directi, Inmobi Symantec, Nvidia. I believe even Google opened up this year. So if you have worked hard, you can make something out of it.

In Data warehousing and Analytics, lack of standard certifications have made it very hard for recruiters to identify "A" league professionals from impostors. When the topic of certification comes, there are basically two questions, why to get certified and how and what to get certified. I would first answer what and then answer why.
Irrespective of technology, The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI) has been a provider of Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) certification where professionals can choose their core skills and appear for the exam that suits the same. The flip side that professionals see to it is that it's not associated with any product in specific and just theory can be good at Architect profile but at career levels where professionals need to implement solutions this might not be able to impress recruiters with this certifications.
Being a Microsoft patron, I would discuss about certifications related to MS BI. Microsoft has recently introduced two certifications for Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.

B.Sc is a good course in computer science but if any student wants to do MCA after B.Sc in computer science, it is a better option as compared to M.Sc in computer science. This is because in MCA, a student learns more application-based program, learn more about this field. After MCA one can get better job scope in MNCs or any government jobs. The correspondence course is also a better option to do as at the same time, a student can also prepare for various competitive exams and continue their study in Masters. They also have a good placement record. So, joining MCA course after B.Sc is not a bad decision. After completing MCA course, one can get a job with at least a salary package of Rs. 4 Lacs per annum and it increases with the time duration and experience.

Nowadays, competition has increased and no exam is easy to crack for MCA course so for getting admission in a good college, a student has to go through an entrance exam. Here are a few entrance exams for MCA aspirants to join a good college.
1. All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET)
This is an exam organized by IIT-Roorkee for admission into various IITs. This is one of the most popular exams for MCA in India. As it is conducted by IIT so obvious level of exam is high.
2. NIT MCA COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (NIMCET)
NIMCET is a national level exam organized by NIT for giving admission to student into 11 different campuses of NIT. This exam contains 120 questions to be solved in 2 hours so a student really needs to work hard for the exam.
3. BHU PET MCA
This is an exam organized by BHU for giving admission into BHU and some other colleges approved by BHU. As BHU a college of national importance so every year approximately 1 lakh students apply for this college and this much crowd make the exam really hard.
4. BIT Mesra MCA exam
BIT Mesra one of the best government-funded college conducting its own exam for giving admission to students into their MCA program.
5. JNU MCA

IOS is one of the best platforms to work on. It depends on the audience you will be targeting.Your road to success in developing high-quality apps is a good one.
Programming is an art and you need to be perfect at it. The more you will be spending time on improving programming skills and communication skills, the higher package you will receive.
Since you do not have a computer science background, I suggest you learn that since data structures and algorithms are always required for a job and internship irrespective of the platform you are working on. Gain knowledge or upgrade your skills then you will have a bright future in iOS development and you can continue your career in the same and with experience can become a Project Manager.

QA is all about finding bugs before they get to the customer. Companies that make mission-critical or life-saving software, of course, take bugs very seriously and invest heavily in finding them. These are good QA jobs.
There are also commercial software companies that are ISO 9001 certified for software development and who develop high-quality software because their customers are willing to spend the extra money to pay for software that has been carefully tested. Companies that push software out the door as fast as possible because the software has new features already sold and promised ahead of time usually have very poor QA. These are bad QA jobs. These too are good QA jobs.
However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The new push toward Test-Driven Development (TDD) puts the responsibility for quality back onto the workers who should be responsible for it: the developers. If they can't write software with built-in quality tests, then they must push back on software engineering managers to prototype.

Nowadays, there are many government and private colleges in India for higher education. For students who want to make a career in any field having a lot of confusion while the selection of the college, there are a number of good government and private colleges in India which are selected by the students. Many private colleges also offer better education and placement to their study such as Christ University, BHU, DU, VIT-Vellore, Sikkim Manipal University, Banasthali Vidyapith. So choosing between government and private college is not a big issue. Nowadays, a college is selected by a student on the basis of placement record, international connection with other colleges, alumni record, facilities provided to the students while their academic, faculty member and ranking of the college given by various ranking bodies.
