The candidate has to select their admission category at the time of filling out the NIFT application form. The candidate must make sure that they have the requisite valid and verifiable certificate supporting their category.
The category selected by a candidate at the time of submitting the application form will be considered final.
If a candidate selects a reserved category i.e. SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PWD, but fails to submitted a valid Category Certificate, he or she will be considered for open category seats provided any benefit of relaxed age or income or cut offs has not been availed by the candidate at any stage of the Admission Proce

The DAT Prelims results for the B.Des programme will be out on April 02, 2027 (tentative). Rechecking window will open from April 02, 2027 to April 04, 2027 (tentative).

Candidates should solve around 30-40 sample papers and question papers before the CEED Exam. Try to solve one sample paper or question paper daily in the last month of preparation.

Yes, there is negative marking in CEED question paper. Part A will include NAT, MSQ, and MCQ questions, and there is negative marking for MSQ and MCQ-type questions. There is no negative marking for NAT-type questions. Part B will be a subjective paper and will have no negative marking.

The allotment of seats for NIFT will be based on the following parameters:
- Choice opted at the time of counseling registration (academic programs + campuses)
- The category of the candidate
- Seat intake in the college opted for admission
- NIFT merit rank of the candidate.

The National Institute of Technology (NIFT) releases answer keys only for the computer-based GAT test. No answer key are released for the offline-based CAT paper.
Also, the keys are released separately for the B. Des, M.Des B.FTech M.FTech and MFM courses. The key will contain the official answers to the questions asked in the entrance exam.
