For the NID Prelims, a score of 19 is on the lower side for the OBC category. In previous years, OBC candidates who qualified for the next round had scores above 40–55 out of 100. So, with 19, sadly, it's not likely you'll make it past the prelims—but don't lose hope, as each exam is a learning experience for the next.

Yes, if you belong to the General category under the AI quota, a 700 rank is good for securing admission at NIFT Chennai. The Round 1 cutoff list for 2025 has been published, showing closing ranks across various courses between 130 and 1420 for the General AI quota. Therefore, candidates in the General category have better chances of gaining admission to NIFT Chennai. However, please note that with your cutoff rank of 700, only courses with a cutoff of up to 700 will be eligible for admission.
