Design field is a practical intensive course and pursuing it through distance mode will do no good to you and your career. You should only pursue this course through regular learning.

If you are really serious about being a design engineer, I would suggest pursuing M.Des. From a good college. M.Des will serve your interest well and it has a lot of opportunities in India.

You should pursue B.Sc. As it is more research-based and has more theory than B. Des. B.Sc. Candidates are considered eligible for the teaching profession.

Such jobs are available after qualifying GATE exam for recruiting the executives and Diploma engineer in PSU sector qualify GATE exam is the only option go in government sector.
