The following national level entrance exam results are accepted by Madras University Distance Education (IDE) for admission to a range of  programs-

For MBA admission, uses the CAT.
For MBA admission, takes the MAT.
CMAT: For admission to MBA programs.
For MBA admission, take the XAT.
For MBA admission, take the NMAT.
ATMA: To be admitted to an MBA program.
GMAT - Foreign students applying for MBA admission.
GRE - To be admitted to ME/M.Tech.
IELTS or TOEFL: For international applicants seeking admission.
GATE: For admission to ME/M.Tech.
The institute additionally requires consideration for the following qualifying exam results:

• Scores from Class 12 or Pre-University for undergraduate courses.
• Scores for master's programs based on bachelor's degrees.
• For those with diplomas looking for lateral entry.

The cost details for different undergraduate (UG) programs-

1. B.C.A. - The entire cost of the three-year programme is between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 35,000.
2. B.A. (Economics, History, and English): The entire cost of the three-year programme is between Rs. 16,000 and Rs. 20,000.
3. B.Com. : The total cost of the three-year programme is approximately Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 18,000.
4. Total costs for a three-year B.Sc. programme in mathematics or computer Science range from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 22,000.
5. B.B.A. : The total cost of the three-year programme is between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000.
6. The total cost of the three-year B.Sc. programme in information technology is between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 35,000.
7. The total cost of the one-year B.Li.Sc. (Library Science) programme is between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 20,000.
8. Fees for Diploma programs range from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 10,000 for one to two years.

The regular full-time B.Sc. programme associated with the varsity is offered by the University of Madras.A regular B.Sc. from Madras University provides what a distance education does not: a more thorough education in the classroom, practical sessions, campus life, etc.
However, for those who are unable to attend full-time, Distance Ed B.Sc. offers flexibility.Many specializations are available at University of Madras, including chemistry, physics, microbiology, and more.
