The University of Madras Institute of Distance Education offers a variety of short-term courses in distance learning, including a Diploma programme in 15 specialisations, a PG Diploma programme in seven, and a certificate programme in eight specialisations, to prepare its students for a variety of career options. The PG Diploma programme is offered with specializations in Public Relations, Shipping and Port Management, Computer Science, Import and Export Management, Export finance and documentation, and Hospital management. These specializations help the students to become industry-ready and sit for placements with companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, ICICI Bank, TCS, etc. The eligibility criteria for the PG programme is that candidates must have passed graduation from a recognised board.
