Your degree may be valid but it may be so that the West Bengal School Service Commission does not recognize distance degree and recognizes only regular degree. For this you will have to check their website. Along with this having the requisite % is also important.

You can try LL. M. from Annamalai University. It is a good ranked university for distance courses of graduation and post graduation. The study content is also at par. Go to the link for more details:

Why do you want to pursue Zoology as a Research programme through distance learning. There are a lot of other options you can think with M.Sc. Microbiology. If you can specify you career aim or interest, then I would help you to choose the best option.
