Distance learning in B.Sc/ M.Sc. Is one of the most preferred options for students who are unable to attend regular classes due to several factors such as geographical restrictions, health issues, and time & financial constraints. Many major Science specializations in India are approved by UGC, which can be offered in distance learning mode. However, courses such as B.Sc. Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, and associated courses are not available in distance learning/ online distance learning (ODLP) mode due to the nature of its course which involves practical learning and experimentation. In recent years, UGC has also given approval for online B.Sc. Courses where the students are provided with online study materials and contact sessions. The exams for online B.Sc. Courses are conducted online where all the questions will be objective or MCQ-based. Before seeking admission distance or online B.Sc. Courses, it is advisable to check the UGC recognition of the respective universities. In fact, UGC has recently approved that a student can pursue two dual degrees simultaneously with the condition that one of the degree programmes must be in the distance learning mode. Moreover, the 2020 pandemic situation has further urged students & aspirants to take up online distance learning programmes on priority. A student who has completed his/her 10+2 education with minimum 60% aggregate marks and is from the Science and maths background can take up a Diploma course in engineering which is of one year and then can directly take admission to the B.Tech after Diploma. Students who have completed the Diploma are eligible for the B Tech course as well as students are also eligible for entry into the second year thus enabling students to complete their b tech in 3 year time frame. AICTE has made it mandatory for all the universities to follow this guideline on a strict basis. Students have to submit all their documents like 10th class proof and Diploma to the university admission department. Once documents are verified, they have to fill the application form.
