Hi, Every course in IGNOU has been approved by specific education boards. IGNOU is famous for its distance courses over decades. The certificates are trust worthy and will definitely will be helpful. You will have to prepare alot of assignments and projects to be eligible for the end semester exams.

First of all, I would say that don't go for B.Ed. In distance mode because every school values the regular B.Ed. More than the distance mode as it is of totally practicing a profession. Besides this some universities are there if you do B.Ed. From those then it will not be considered by the schools

University of Mysore offers MA in English program. The eligibility criteria is as under.
Eligibility: M.A English Students having optional English in B.A./ B.Sc., B.A. Performing Arts / B.A.Ed. (Regional Institute of Education) degree or Postgraduate Diploma in English of the university or equivalent

At Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phoole University, this course is only in full time mode. As I know, there is hardly any college in Mysore or Jaipur also, that offer this course in correspondence or distance mode, and I can suggest you:Imperial Institute of Management, Mumbai
