Yes, you can pursue two courses at the same time through distance learning but I would suggest you to pursue one course through regular mode and the other one through distance learning especially engineering. I am saying so because All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has not approved engineering courses in the open and distance learning (ODL) mode.
So it will be better if you pursue your engineering through regular mode and media course through distance learning mode.

Distance MBA from NMIMS is not much famous because all the perks and elements of an MBA course is present at the campus. I would suggest not to go for distance MBA at all because it doesn't really serve the purpose of an PGDM degree. All the information regarding the placement you can find at our website.
