Yes, many have benefited from distance MBA. But who? If your organization is ready to promote you only if you have MBA.
If you are self-disciplined, you can actually learn those subjects on your own. And, a degree certificate is a way that you can convey that message out to the world.
Regular MBA vs Distance MBA:
Between Regular MBA from a Tier 3 institute and Distance MBA, I always recommend distance MBA. B.Tech in Correspondence is not possible now. Supreme Court has ordered against such courses and AICTE does not recognise them. You can however do MBA now.

It would be very difficult, as I can't find an institute that has center in USA. Better choice would be to pursue a course in USA itself that has validity in India too.

Long distance B.Tech courses don't turn out to be very well because you are deprived of the hands-off practical experience that regular fill time engineering courses offer. However, if you are determined to pursue this, there a plethora of colleges and universities you can opt for. Choose a course that interests you and not just on the basis of usefulness and scope of the course.

Dear Nitin,
As of now Distance BE or B.Tech is not permissible as per AICTE and considered invalid, However, petition are filed in courts for a relief from this rule but will take time.
