Hello Mohammad, it's very nice to seethat you have completed your Diploma and are now interested in completion of graduation in engineering. Normally speaking yes you would be eligible. However it is better to check on the website of the directorate of technical education of your state. They would invariably have a table wearing eligibility of Diploma holders of different branches for or seeking degree of engineering in different branches is given. Alternatively you can even seek guidance from the administrative staff from the institution where you have completed your Diploma education as they will be able to guide you in this. The eligibility criteria which the students must fulfil in order to get eligible for admission to the Masters in Engineering course are listed below:
The candidate must have completed a degree in the graduation in engineering or a similar level from a UGC or other recognised institute. The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 55% in the qualifying exam with all the subjects put together. The candidate must have passed 10+2 level exam with Physics and Mathematics as the main subjects and one optional subjects among Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science. Some of the institutes may also conduct their own entrance test or PI to test the eligibility of students for admission. Admission Process
The admission process for Masters in Engineering course depends on the type of the institute. While some institutes may conduct their own entrance test to evaluate the students, some of the colleges might take the admission on the basis of the merit of the student in the qualifying exam. As the initial admission process, the merit of the students is evaluated based on the documents as submitted by the student at the time of application. If the student passes the eligibility requirement for admission, he/she will have to appear for the written test, followed by the interview round. Based on the overall marks obtained by the student in the written test and interview round, if the student qualifies, he/she will be called for the counselling round.
