The time involved in the M Tech in Electrical Engineering course can easily take up 3 to 5 months because of the amount of formalities involved. You need to appear for the entrance exams, fill out the college application forms, exam result announcement, college counseling, merit cutoff lists, seat allocation, course fee, and admission confirmation.

To get admission to the M Tech in Electrical Engineering course. You should meet the eligibility criteria. Clear relevant entrance tests like GATE, Andhra Pradesh PGECET, TS PGECET, etc., with excellent marks to get hold of a seat at a decent college.
Another important step is to fill out the college application form before the last date. After the exam results are declared, you need to apply for the college counseling process via the online portal.

You need to have at least 55% marks in your bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and pass relevant entrance tests with excellent marks.
This is a general eligibility requirement and may vary from college to college. For example the IITs need at least 60% marks in your bachelor's degree to be eligible for admission to the M.Tech EE course.

The M Tech in Electrical Engineering course has a general time span of 2 years that is split into four semesters. Almost all of the M.Tech courses in India are 2 years long, except for the integrated BTech-MTech and MTech-PhD Electrical Engineering courses that lets you earn a dual degree in Electrical Engineering.

According to the latest report, a total of 96 students were placed during the 2023 placements. The highest package offered was INR 11.25 LPA and was offered to MBA students. The rank that you require to target for a particular specialisation at IIT Roorkee would depend on the category you belong to. If you belong to the General AI category, then you must target a rank of below 2033 for Electrical Engineering, as per the last round.
If you belong to the OBC AI category, then your target should be a rank below 1012. For the SC AI and ST AI category candidates, the target rank for Electrical Engineering should be below 560 and 298, respectively.

IIT BHU EE syllabus include subjects that are focused on core topics of Electrical. It has both theory and practical subjects. With a good course curriculum, the foundation becomes strong. Some of the topics that are covereed in the course are Control Systems, Power Electronics, Analysis and Control of Electrical Drives, Converter Applications, Digital Control System, etc.
