The entrance tests for admission to the B Tech in Electrical Engineering course are not a cakewalk for one to crack very easily. You need to work very hard and stay dedicated, as the competition is quite cutthroat at top-ranked colleges for this course, with Lacs of students appearing for various entrance exams for B Tech EE every year. You should have very good knowledge of the PCM fundamentals of Class 11 and 12.

The level of the question paper also depends on last year's student feedback, the estimated number of applicants who've applied for the exam, and the number of seats available across colleges in India.

To get admission to the B Tech EE course, it may take around 3 to 5 months, because various formalities are involved, including entrance exams, college application forms, result announcements, college cutoffs, college counseling, seat allotment, and fee payment.
Every college follows a different approach, and the ones that give admission on the basis of Class 12 merit also take extra rounds like the GD or PI, for which you must check the official college websites for accurate details.

Almost all of the B Tech Electrical Engineering colleges in India charge an admission application fee that mostly ranges between INR 500 and INR 3,000, depending on the college, and it needs to be submitted along with the college application form.

If you are really inclined towards the field of electrical systems and electronics and love to play with wires every day, you can go ahead and pursue M.Tech in Electrical Engineering course after completng your BTech degree.
