The National Testing Agency has changed the exam pattern for the JEE Main 2020.
1. Up until now, the JEE examination was being conducted by the CBSE. However, from this year onwards the National Testing Agency will be conducting the exam. While the examination was previously conducted once a year, from JEE 2020, they will be held twice a year. In January and then April.
3. Students will now be allowed to appear for either one or both the sessions, and only their best score will be considered final.
4. The number of questions to be asked in the exam has been reduced from 30 to 25, and out of the 25 questions, 20 will be multiple-choice, and 5 will be numerical questions.
5. Mathematics, physics and chemistry will be given equal weightage. Each question will be for four marks and for objective type questions, one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer while for numerical-type questions, there will be no negative marking.
6. While mathematics and aptitude papers will remain common to B. Planning and B.Arch aspirants, there will be no drawing paper for B. Planning aspirants and candidates instead will have to take a paper of 25 multiple choice question on planning.
7. The drawing test for B.Arch which is now for 100 marks, used to have three questions earlier. Henceforth, it will have only two questions. The B.Arch paper will carry 77 questions instead of 81.

JEE Main Exam will be conducted 6th to 11th January 2020. So, you have almost 4 months left for the preparation. Start your preparation by checking the entire JEE Main Syllabus. There is nothing to get disheartened, only Exam pattern has been changed, not syllabus. No drastic change has been introduced which may compel you to lose focus on your studies. Few changes in the preparation strategy and that's it, from now onward try solving the questions without seeing the options as 15 questions will be in the same manner. Now design paper for yourself selecting 60 objective and 15 questions with directs answers. Get to know how exam will turn difficult without the help of options along as per new JEE Main paper pattern. And please do concentrate on unit of answers in questions having options. One more thing remaining 60, as now will be given more time to be solved than earlier, will surely have a surprise factor and that must be the difficulty level. So, focus on previous years exam paper of JEE Advanced those questions will give you the idea that how a simple question is made tricky using more than one concept in a single question. Moreover, solving them again and again will let you know the easier approach towards the question and will help you build a very strong base of fundamentals. Thanks a lot.
