Hello,
Placement in CUSAT is almost good. Safety fire branch students gets directly placed in PSUs and many MNCs directly with packages of INR 12 to 14 LPA. Then it comes for CS IT, ECE guys. Awesome placements of them too. Many software firms from Bangalore and Chennai comes for recruitment with average package of INR 8 to 9 LPA. Now, the turn is for core branches like EEE, MECH, CIVIL. In the last 3 years none of the core companies came for recruitment. But yes, these branches have placements i.e in software companies like TCS, etc. With very poor package of INR 3.15 LPA. This year 2019 Mahindra came for EEE and Mechanics, but no one

Just study what your school syllabus teaches you, and practice some MCQ from different books, but good one. If possible give distance mock tests from any coaching center for all India assessment of your preparation. Practice 3-4 days a week and it will be good.

For m.tech in petrolium engineering the eligibility criteria is b.tech/b.e degree with a first class or minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CPI (55% marks or 5.5 CPI for SC/ST students) in any one of the following disciplines from any AICTE approved Institute, State/Central University or Institute created under an Act of Parliament: Petroleum Engineering. but for the admission in petroleum engineering(m.tech) you must have to go through GATE. mostly institute decide admission according to GATE score & also asked for the personal interview.
