Depends on what college you want admission into. You can get into a lot of NITs with that rank, mainly you will be able to get branches such as Mechanical, Electrical, Civil. Cut off for CSE and ECE is generally very low for NITs so chances you get those branches are low, but you can hope to get one of those branches in internal shuffling once you secure admission into a college.

You will not be able to get either CSE or Mechanical as both of these branches close fast. If you do have a home state quota, you might get admission into these branches in later rounds. I would recommend you look into IIIT Una as it has the same faculty and campus as NIT Hamirpur and is also a government institute. You can get admission into CSE or ECE engineering in IIIT Una with your rank.

If I not wrong you are talking about Symbiosis Institute Of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune. And if it is then :- No, JEE is not required in SIMS, Pune because its a management college. The MBA courses are offered primarily Defence Personnel and their dependents with few seats kept for civilian candidates. For getting admission in Symbiosis Institute Of Management Studies a student has to appear an entrance examination known as (SNAP). Look, no one can tell you that what is and what not is better for you. You are the only person who knows yourself better than any one. So, I suggest you to choose or look for that branch only in which you have interest. You must have an aim to achieve it so according to it only choose the suitable for yourself. Also, use the given link in predicting the college on the basis of your rank:
