Dear Saurabh,
According to JEE official website it is clearly mentioned that to appear in JEE Mains exam you must have to clear 10+2 pattern (75%+ for IIT and NIT). Diploma degree is invalid for JEE Mains application form. However, you can check it in CBSE's JEE.nic.in or you can call the officials.

Hello Rahul,
JEE - joint entrance examination is an all India level entrance exam for undergraduate admissions into IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
The importance is that, you can get a chance to study in the prestigious engineering Institutes of India which provide quality education, and placements.
These Institutes are better than most of the other engineering colleges in terms of education and most importantly fee structure.
It is divided into two exams namely JEE main and JEE Advanced.

It would be little difficult because you need speed for the JEE examination and for that you need to learn short cuts and various tricks, even if you want to self-study, then enroll for mock test papers and online tutorials of some good coaching institute.

Hello Kapil!
You can appear for GATE Exam only during your last semester or after that.
And it also depends on your knowledge and hard work.
But it will be ideal to take coaching during the 3rd year or final year as you may get the deep knowledge of your branch only in the 3rd or final year.

It depends on how are you preparing each subject. Yes, giving your 100% in all the three subjects you will top the JEE Mains. Try to do self-study for 6 to 7 hour per day. All the best!
