It depends on what your fellow competitors are preferring this year. With your rank, it is possible to get the IT stream, although CSE will be a little difficult in getting.

As both the colleges are good but there is one difference that is one is govt. and the other one is private. As far as I know, Cochin University of Science and Technology has better ranking then IEM.

Hi,
Yes, you are eligible to sit for JEE Mains next year. Your board percentage is greater than 75%, so there won't be any problem.

Hi,
Your JEE marks are just 40. At this stage, you will not get any good govt. college. So, better to try for any private college with direct admission.

Hi,
Yes, you can appear for JEE Mains 2018 but even on clearing JEE Mains with good marks I don't think that you will get admission in govt. colleges as they want 75% in boards of JEE aspirants.

Hello Harsh,
Well its good that you are looking forward to IIITs and NITs, however considering Kota it is the hub of all premier IIT JEE coachings of India,so you can choose any one of them, but in my opinion it will be better for you to go with resonance because it is more result orienting these days.
All the best!
