Hello,
It depends on your JEE score, in RCOEM we have CET as well as management rounds with separate cutoffs for SC / ST, OBC and OPEN.

By now you would have understood if your interest lies in engineering. In case you have any interest and you want to pursue engineering as a career then GATE is for you. In case you like management then CAT is for you. But just to let you know, at any stage of life management is necessary, hence having an MBA degree and learning from it would always benefit you irrespective of your career path.

Hello Sumavasu,
According to the previous year opening and closing ranks, your chances of getting an IIT are really low and for mechanical engineering you rank should be at least 5000-7000. So your chances are less. You can try it in the counselling.
Refer the link below to know the previous year opening and closing ranks:

Hello Raghavendra,
If you belong to SC or ST then you have chances to get IITs but I'm not sure whether you can get the top IITs with this score even if you belong to SC or ST. If you belong to some other category then your chances to get the top IITs will be low.
Your AIR and category rank are the two important parameters that determine your admission. So wait till the results.

I think you are not mentioning your correct rank. If your general rank is 50k then your ST rank can't be 16k. It will be under 1500.

Yes, you have to give improvement for all the subjects. Perhaps, board exams end before JEE Mains or if you are not sure then you should apply to the nearest center of JEE Mains from where you are appearing for your improvement exams.
