If you are confident of yourself then go for re-evaluation. Simultaneously, you can appear for JEE Advanced if you have cleared JEE Mains. Appear for WBJEE too.

With JEE Mains scores, you can get admission in some other universities apart from NITs. You can opt for IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology) and GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes). They offer admission based on your JEE Mains score only.
If you score (rank) is too low, you can look for some colleges that admit you based on JEE scores and board exams marks.

To get admission in NITs, you need to have 75% marks in your board exams as you have got only 50%, you have no chance to get an NIT. It is better if you choose a college that offers admission based on both JEE Main scores and board exam scores.
All the best.

Please make your question clear. In which college you want to get admission? Your score is low to get the top NITs. You can try for some colleges that offer admission based on your JEE Mains score as well as board exam score.

There are very low chances for you to get NIT with this score. If you belong to the general category then you will not be deemed qualified. You might get an NIT if you belong to SC/ST category, but there are no chances of getting a college.
You just need to score 75% in HSc to satisfy the eligibility criteria, your JEE Mains core should be good. So, try for some better colleges with your board exam marks or with both JEE Mains and board marks.

If you get the best private university like BITS, Pilani, VIT, Manipal, etc., then you can go for any one of them. These are all some of the best private universities in India. They ask for a high fee, but the quality of education and placements will be good. With this score, you cannot get a good college. As IIT-JEE requires 75%, you are not eligible to get admission in IITs, NITs, etc. Dropping a year for IIT depends on you. You need to work hard and should have the confidence and passion.
