Hello Nikhil,
Our central government announced this for all the engineering entrance exams. A new exam conducting body for JEE Mains instead of CBSE.
But this decision is kept pending as colleges conduct counselling rounds and many state governments such as WB restrict to one single exam so a decision should be taken soon.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development It is the counseling body for IITs NITs and GFTIs. They allot seat for IITs NITs and GFTIs.
