Last year, opening & closing for aeronautical engineering in IIT-B was about 900 & 1800 respectively. I guess this will remain. So, this year too since in the world nothing has changed much. But try to score as much as you can, dream for the best not for worst case scenario.

A score around 220-240+ is a good score to get into NITs. NIT - Surathkal, Warangal, Trichy, Surat, Bhopal, Jaipur are the top NITs to look for admission.

It will depend on you, that what you want. If you want to get a good job, try some companies or job oriented course or if you want to study more, then go for it.

Yes, percentage acquired in 12th class are important. To write IIT-JEE Advanced exam and be eligible for getting admission in IITs, you must have at least 75 percent or you must be in top 20 percentile.

12th is the Basic Foundation of every student. If you didn't do then you miss lots of Opportunities and your scope will become limited.

I recommend taking a drop. Because few colleges don't accept Diploma (polytechnic) students into 2nd year. So, your options after polytechnic will be limited.

If you are getting admission in NITs, it's good because private institutions are always the last options. And one more thing: No institution can give you 100% guarantee for you placement. Because, it depends on you- how much are you smart, talented, your SGPA and CGPA score during graduation

You can join Indian Navy as an officer after +2 by appearing for NDA entrance examination conducted by UPSC. Eligibility criteria for Indian Navy is PCM at +2 stage from a recognised board. There are other means of joining Navy as an officer also. Please refer to:
