In the two-paper combination of GATE, candidates can select two test papers, one considered the primary and the other secondary. The allowed paper combination for civil engineering (CE)-

• Aerospace Engineering (AE)

• Agricultural Engineering (AG)

• Architectural Engineering (AR)

• Environmental Science and Engineering (ES)

• Geomatics Engineering (GE)

• Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM)

• Engineering Sciences (XE)

Candidates are advised to select test papers for the two-paper combinations wisely. 

The exam pattern and distribution of questions for test paper codes - CE, CS, EC, AE, AG, BT, CH, ME, MN, MT, EE, IN, TF, XE, PE, ST, and PI are as follows -

• General Aptitude (GA)-  15 questions

• Engineering Mathematics (EM) - 13 questions

• Subject-specific questions - 72 questions 

The GATE question paper is of 100 marks total with a time duration of three hours.

The important GATE dates include the application form, admit card, exam dates, result, and counselling dates. The conducting authorities also publish all the GATE exam dates in the information brochure.

The GATE is a national-level entrance exam jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs to offer admission to postgraduate and doctoral programs. The GATE admission process comprises of the following stages -

• GATE Candidate Registration

• Appearing for the GATE exam

• Announcement of the GATE exam results

• Attending the counselling process of GATE through COAP or CCMT 

• Reporting to the allotted institutes

The TNEA 2025 counselling will end in September 2025. Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu will start the application process for TNEA 2025 soon. The last date to apply is June 6, 2025 and the last date to complete document upload is June 12, 2025

TNEA 2024 Registration: The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) has started the TNEA application process on May 6, 2024, on its official website. The last date to register for online application is June 6, 2024.

The Rajasthan JET entrance exam is for those who want to pursue Undergraduate degree programmes in Allied Science and Agriculture.
