It is possible to gain admission to UIET Chandigarh's B.Tech programme with a 75 percentile in JEE. The candidate's JEE Main rank determines their admission to UIET Chandigarh. Admission to the BTech programme at IIT Kanpur is entrance exam-based, i.e., based on JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced scores. Candidates seeking admission to BTech can not get admission to IIT Kanpur with only the scores of JEE Main. JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling is the final selection criteria followed by the institute. There are three types of questions asked in the GATE exam namely Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), Numerical Answer Type Questions (NAT). Every question will be of either 1 or 2 marks. 2 marks question generally more difficult and lengthier. Candidates must attempt mock test and Pervious year GATE question papers to get an idea that which question will be awarded with 2 marks.

No, questions based on Engineering Mathematics are not asked in every GATE paper.
Question papers with the codes AR, CY, EY, GG, M.A. PH, and XL do not consist of Engineering Mathematics questions. Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude are the compulsory sections, which include 28% weightage combined in each in total marks in GATE papers with codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS EC, EE, IN ME, MN, MT, PE, PI TF, and XE.
