Indeed, entrance-based admissions apply to the M.Sc. Chemistry programme at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). Applicants must show up for the CUSAT-conducted Common Admission Test (CAT).
Typically, the entrance exam syllabus covers topics from undergraduate Chemistry, like:
- Coordination Chemistry, Organometallics, and Bioinorganic Chemistry are examples of inorganic chemistry.
- Organic Chemistry: Stereochemistry, Reaction Mechanisms, and Organic Synthesis
- Thermodynamics, Quantum Chemistry, and Spectroscopy in Physical Chemistry

With a GMR rank of 21359 and RFW rank of 4529 in WBJEE, you have got a chance to get into some appropriate colleges for CSE, however perhaps no longer the top ones. Colleges like Jadavpur University and IIEST Shibpur might be hard to get, however you could attempt for different state-degree schools. Colleges like Techno India, Heritage Institute of Technology, or Narula Institute of Technology might be possible alternatives. Check the previous year's cut-off ranks for these faculty members to get a higher idea. Apply early and maintain alternatives open.

In JAC Delhi counselling, CRL rank is considered and not category rank. In JAC Delhi counselling, Seats are alloted on the basis of JEE main CRL rank.

It's doubtful that you'll get into an IIT with an 82 percentile in JEE Mains because they usually want higher percentiles. Nevertheless, depending on the precise cutoffs and available seats for certain branches, you might have a shot at some lower-ranked NITs or other government-funded technical institutes. You may also think about applying to other engineering schools that have their own entrance examinations or that recognize JEE Mains marks. Investigating private engineering schools with strong placement histories and facilities may also be worthwhile.

With a SC category rank of 5076 in JEE Advanced 2024, admission to a prestigious IIT may be difficult for popular programs like mechanical, electrical, or computer science engineering. On the other hand, you might be able to get into less competitive programs or at more recent IITs. Investigate options in engineering branches such as Metallurgy, Civil, or Chemical Engineering; take into account IITs with higher closing ranks for students in the SC category.
