Yes, and many students miss out simply because they don't apply. Top colleges like RVCE, BMSCE, and MSRIT offer merit scholarships to COMEDK top-rankers, usually under rank 500, covering anywhere from 25% to 100% of tuition fees, renewed yearly based on performance. So a high COMEDK rank can dramatically cut down your actual fee burden. It's always worth checking scholarship eligibility before assuming a college is out of budget.

The most critical distinction is that JoSAA counselling does not apply to private engineering colleges in Bangalore. JoSAA strictly manages admissions for premier government-funded institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

The only ways of admission to a private engineering college in Bangalore like RVCE, BMSCE or MSRIT are through state-level entrance-based counselling through KCET or COMEDK or direct private admission.

The scholarship slab system at private engineering colleges in Bangalore works through many ways. Some of them are mentioned below –

1. Scholarship percentage is directly tied to your entrance exam rank; better rank = higher tuition waiver, going up to 100% for top rankers

2. KCET rank holders can get up to 100% tuition waiver; JEE Main scorers typically get only 15–25% (up to 50–100% at 99+ percentile)

3. Family income below INR 6 lakh/year can qualify for 50–80% need-based fee concession

4. Waivers apply strictly to tuition; hostel, mess, and miscellaneous charges are fully excluded

5. Scholarship is not permanent; CGPA must be ma
