No, direct second-year admission through Diploma Stream Entry (DSY) is not available at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay for B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering. IITs generally do not offer lateral entry into the second year after a diploma. To study B.Tech at IIT Bombay, diploma holders must appear for JEE Advanced after qualifying JEE Main and meet the required eligibility criteria. Admission is granted only to the first year through JoSAA counselling. Diploma students can also explore other reputed universities that provide lateral entry opportunities into engineering programs.

The latest JoSAA 2025 cutoff for B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was highly competitive. For the General category, the closing rank was around AIR 66, while for OBC-NCL it was about 54. Female-only closing ranks were comparatively higher. Admission depends on JEE Advanced rank, category, seat availability, and counselling rounds. IIT Bombay CSE remains one of the most sought-after engineering programs in India because of its excellent placements, coding culture, research opportunities, and global reputation.
