While the exact number of seats can change each year, CSE remains one of the largest departments with a high intake capacity. Pursuing a BTech at VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) in the CSE stream means being part of a popular and well-resourced program.

Yes, your son can easily appear for ongoing JoSAA 2026 counselling and the choice-filling process. However, to get a seat on IIT, your son must score 75% aggregate in the 12th CBSE for the general category, and for SC/ST/PwD, the score must be 65%.

VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies stands out because of its NAAC A+ accreditation and its unique AI-integrated vertical campus. While other colleges may offer similar courses, a BTech at VISTAS provides a more modern and technology-driven learning experience. It focuses on personalised mentorship and a strong faculty-to-student ratio.

Many students get puzzled between Aerospace engineering and Aeronautical Engineering. Aeronautical engineering only deals with the aircraft that fly in the atmosphere, like planes and helicopters and Aerospace Engineering deals with aircraft and also spacecraft. Mostly in Pune, colleges offer Aeronautical Engineering as a branch under Aerospace Engineering. Both branches have almost similar subjects and future career options, Aerospace Engineering opens a little more career possibilities like space research and satellite technology.

Yes, Aerospace Engineering graduates from Pune colleges can definitely apply for jobs at ISRO and DRDO. These organisations recruit engineers through their own entrance exams like ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) exam and DRDO CEPTAM exam. Students with strong academics, good GATE scores, and relevant internship experience stand the best chance of getting selected. Many Pune college graduates have successfully joined ISRO and DRDO over the years.
