A general rank of more than 2 Lacs in JEE Main, your options in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling will primarily focus on selecting engineering colleges and programs where the cutoff ranks typically extend beyond the top ranks, include a wide range of institutes and branches in your preferred list. This increases your chances of securing a seat in a college that aligns with your preferences and matches your rank.Look into NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes) that historically have lower cutoff ranks or more available seats in later rounds of counseling.

NIT Trichy is highly regarded for its engineering programs, admission with a rank of 8 Lacs in JEE Main is unlikely due to high competition and lower cutoff ranks. Evaluate your options carefully, explore alternative institutions, and plan your next steps accordingly to pursue your engineering education effectively.
For General category candidates, admission to NITs typically requires ranks within the top few Lacs (e.g., up to approximately 2-3 Lacs depending on the branch and institute).JEE Main ranks are based on the performance of candidates relative to others who appeared for the exam. A rank of 8 Lacs means you are placed qui

With 93 percentile, your rank would be roughly around 95,000. Given your rank, securing admission into top-tier NITs might be challenging, but you have a good chance of getting into lower-ranked NITs such as those in Srinagar, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Agartala, Puducherry, and even NIT Jalandhar for textile engineering, the expected rank for the 94 percentile is AIR 72,000 while that for the 95 percentile is AIR 60,000 the list of NIT'S and there respective branches at which admission are possible for a score between 94 to 95 percentile are provided here. A high JEE Mains score can open doors to some of the top engineering colleges in India, there are still many reputable institutions where you can get an excellent B.Tech education even with a lower percentile in JEE. Many colleges and universities conduct their own entrance exams for B.Tech admissions. These exams might have a different difficulty level or weightage compared to JEE Mains.
Some states in India also have their own engineering entrance exams for admissions to government colleges within the state. Many private engineering colleges offer B.Tech programs with their own admission criteria. Explore reputable private colle
