To get into Periyar Maniammai University  for a BTech course, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the university. Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology offers full-time BTech courses of four years' duration. Students can get into this course based on Uni-GAUGE-E 2020/Any National Entrance Examination conducted by competent authorities exam score. Apart from the selection criteria, students must pass Class 12 (common eligibility).

Periyar Maniammai University students are eligible to apply for scholarships under various categories. Some of the PMU scholarships are Merit Scholarship, Sports Scholarship, Farmers & Weavers Scholarship, Alumni Scholarship, etc. Students can apply for these scholarships while filling out the registration form for course admission. The scholarships are awarded to the students of UG courses like BSc, BCom and BA based on their performance in Class 12. The sanctioned scholarship will be given throughout the programme subject to the fulfilment of the condition that the student has passed all the semester exams and has a minimum of 80% attendance in the previous academic year.

The University has successfully concluded the 2023 placements. A total of 678 students registered for the 2023 drive, out of which 581 were successfully placed. Further,  68 companies participated and distributed over 798 job offers.
