No, fixed marks are not allotted to Numeric Answer type questions, and they may vary between 25 to 40 marks. The examination duration for GATE is three hours. It includes 29 papers as of 2023. The total number of questions asked in each paper is 65, of which 10 are from General Aptitude section and the rest 55 questions from the subject. Let us tell you that, these 65 questions are spread across different types like Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and/or Numerical Answer Type NAT questions. NAT in GATE will carry either one or two marks each. There will be no choices for these types of questions. Also, there will be no negative marking for Numerical Answer Type NAT questions.
