Candidates were able to select their preferences for the WBJEE 2023 exam centres while filling out the application form. During the application process, the candidates had to select and submit three WBJEE 2023 exam zones in the order of preference. Allotment of exam centres was done based on the preferences selected by the candidates. If the candidate's first preference centre was not available, then they were allotted a centre in the zone that they had submitted as their second preference. Therefore, the order of preference is important while selecting the exam zones of WBJEE.

Once the specified end time for choice filling is reached, JoSAA automatically locks the choices. Prior to locking, you have the flexibility to edit, add, delete, and update your choices. However, after locking, you can only modify the preference order, but this option is typically available only after the first round of seat allocation.

There is no as such dress code at university for undergraduate B.Tech students. You can wear whatever you want but it should be presentable. Too open dresses would not be prefered even though no one going to interrupt you for this. Students should behave as a mature and take care of other convenience.

No. All candidates are required to fill out their choice of colleges and courses during the WBJEE counselling. Candidates will not be allowed to advance into the WBJEE seat allotment process if they have not selected their colleges and courses in the order of preference. All of the selection has to be done and submitted before the final date. Since WBJEE seat allotment will be done based on the candidate's rank, preferences and seat availability, the candidates will have to carefully select their choices during the counselling process.

The merit list for seal allocation will be prepared based on the GATE scores. There may be some cases where two or more candidates score the same marks; in such cases, the following will be considered:
- In the case of the same year's GATE qualification, preference will be given to the candidate who has scored higher GATE marks out of 100. - If GATE marks are out of 100 and the year of passing GATE for two candidates is the same, then preference will be based on the All India Rank (AIR). - If the marks out of 100, years of passing the GATE and AIR are the same, then the Date of Birth will be considered.
