No, there is no age limit to apply for TNEA. However, note that the age limit is applicable at the time of admission based on the course and the institutes eligibility conditions. Therefore candidates must check the eligibility for the course and institute they are willing to apply for admission via TNEA 2026 counselling. TNEA stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu conducts TNEA every year. It is an online counselling window. The following candidates are considered as native of Tamil Nadu state:
- Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed their Class VIII to Class XII standard in Tamil Nadu.
- Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission.
- Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2025 application form submission had been working

The application fee for TNEA is INR 500 for the general candidates and INR 250 for SC /SCA /ST category belonging to Tamil Nadu.

To apply for TNEA 2026, candidates have to meet the below requirements: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates). They should have passed the 10+2 exam from Tamil Nadu board or any equivalent board. They must have cleared any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) with one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
