Aerospace Engineers are more likely to work for the military and government as compared to Mechanical Engineers. While it comes to employment, mechanical Engineering has a wider scope. Both Mechanical as well as Aerospace Engineers get a decent salary. The entrance requirements for both fields are pretty much the same. And to answer this question simply, aerospace engineering isn't harder than mechanical engineering since they both require more or less the same skills. Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE. Candidate must have secured the above-mentioned marks in all years of the qualifying degree OR b) awarding degree based on aggregate marks secured in the final two semesters or final year of the qualifying degree: GE/OBC/EWS: Minimum of 60% marks (OR a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale) SC/ST/PwD: CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). B.Tech students who graduated/graduating from IITs having a CGPA of 8.00 or above (out of 10) are eligible for direct admission without having to appear in either GATE or personal interview.
