As per the basic eligibility criteria of the CTET Exam, the candidates are required to be a Graduate having a B.Ed degree. Hence, the candidates who have B.Ed degree after passing the Engineering exams are eligible to appear for the CTET exam. Yes the student can write CTET exam as per the eligibility criteria there is no age limit and 50% marks in graduation and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. You would require a minimum of 97-98 percentile to get admission in B. Tech programme in HBTU, Kanpur. The cutoff rank for CSE is around 21,000 which would be approx. 97.5 percentile. You need to get a rank under 20,000 to get HBTU kanpur

No, he can't sit in the placement drive of the CS, they ask only CSE and IT to sit in their campus round and somewhere ECE also but not the metallurgy student.
You can definitely go to software job if you'll have that potential to maintain both metallurgy and coding part that is you'll have to maintain both your GPA along with the coding and other skills necessary to get into software field do start learning different coding languages
