GIET Engineering Entrance Examination is a paper-based examination. The duration of the entrance examination is two hours. This is to note that, the dates mentioned here is to give an overall idea of the entrance exam. The dates may vary further.

Students with qualified GIETEE exam are eligible to be admission to the BTech programme at GIET University. However, the candidate’s DOB should fall on and after 1997 to apply for GIETEE exam in order to get admission to GIET Gunupur University.

Every student must hold a bachelor's degree in the subject that interests them. For MBA admission, the university accepts the CAT, XAT, MAT, and CMAT results. The university conducts it's own entrance test called GIETEE for BTech course at GIET Gunupur University. Candidates appearing for the GIETEE should have secured an aggregate of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology in the class 12 examination.

All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with a minimum percentage of marks as specified by the participating universities are eligible to apper for CLAT 2026. Candidates who will be appearing for Class 12th exam are also allowed to appear for CLAT Exam 2026. In order to pursue LLM, it is important for candidates to have an LL.B. degree or should have completed an equivalent examination from a recognised university with a minimum percentage of marks as specified by the participating universities.

The qualifying CAT cutoff of IIM Jammu is the minimum percentile that candidates must score to be eligible for an interview call for WAT/GD-PI, while the final CAT cutoff is the percentile that candidates must obtain to participate in the WAT/GD-PI round. The former is released with the admission criteria of the institute before the CAT exam while the latter is released after the declaration of CAT result. A few more differences between the two are tabulated below:
