Patna University MLET, also known as the Patna University Master of Law Entrance Test or Patna University LLM Entrance Exam, is an entrance examination conducted by Patna University for admission to its LLM (Master of Laws) program. This examination is designed to assess the eligibility and aptitude of candidates seeking admission to the LLM courses offered by Patna University. Patna University MLET question paper contains two sections, namely, Paper 1 and Paper. Each question carries 1 mark. There will be 50 multiple choice-based questions in the Paper 1. Paper 2 will have 10 subjective questions from Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law of India, Law of Evidence and Procedures, Law of Contract and International Law. Candidates will have to attempt any 5 questions out of these 10 questions.

No, candidates cannot get admission to a 3-year LLB programme through the Patna University MLET. The exam is only conducted for admission to LLM course.

The Patna University MLET exam includes two question papers, namely Paper I and Paper II. There are five sections in Paper I of Patna University MLET, including Jurisprudence, Contitutional Law of India, Law of Evidence and Procedures, Law of Contract and International. 

Paper II also includes the same five sections as those in Paper I. However, the questions asked in this paper are subjective in nature. Each section of the paper contains two questions. Candidates need to answer only one question in each section.

Patna University MLET is conducted offline in a pen and paper-based mode. Thus, candidates cannot take this exam from their home. They need to visit the exam centre allotted by the Patna University MLET exam authority, Patna University and take the exam in offline mode. The deatils related to the Patna University MLET exam centre is made available on the Patna University MLET admit card. The admit card can be downloaded online from the website of the Patna Law College or Patna University. 

Patna University MLET is conducted by Patna Law College, Patna University. Thus, candidates from all Indian states can apply for Patna University MLET to get admission to an LLM course offered by the institute. They only need to meet the Patna University MLET eligibility criteria.

If you don't score above the cutoff in Patna University MLET, you will have to follow one of the steps mentioned below:

1. Participate in Subsequent Counseling Rounds:

• If seats remain vacant after the initial allotment, subsequent rounds of counseling are conducted. Cutoffs may lower in these rounds, providing a chance to secure a seat.
• Stay updated on the official website for counseling schedules and participate in all rounds for which you are eligible.

2. Explore Colleges:

• Consider applying to top law colleges, or 
• Research colleges with good reputations and courses that align with your interests.

3. Retake the Exam in the Next Year:

• If you're determined to get into a specific college or course, prepare thoroughly and retake the PULAT exam in the following year.
• Analyze your previous performance, identify areas for improvement, and dedicate time to focused preparation.

To participate in the Patna University MLET counselling, candidates need the following documents: 

• Class X and Class XII marksheets
• LLB marksheets of all semesters
• Caste Certificate (if applicable)
• Admit card
• Passport-size photos

The Patna University MLET counselling will tentatively be conducted in September 2026. Candidates who qualify for the Patna University MLET exam will be eligible for the counselling.
