Dear,
The last year's cut-off for admission to IIFT 2016-18 batch were between 38-45, which varied according to the analysis of different experts. The IIFT 2016 cutoff depends on exam pattern and difficulty level of the exam. Hence, it is expected that the IIFT 2016 cutoff would be around 40-45. It is equally good as IIFT Kolkata.

Degree gives more salary and reputation than diploma. Always keep that in mind.

Hi Seema,
According to last year's cut off, OBC rank 611 got the last seat of Fashion Design department in NIFT, Delhi and OBC rank 961 got the last seat of Fashion Communication department in NIFT, Mumbai. So with an OBC rank 612, you can try for FC but it will be tough for FD.

Fashion Communication is like the core of the whole business of fashion. It includes Photography, Styling, Visual Merchandising, Graphic Designing, Fashion Journalism, Space Design, Advertising, Art Direction, Retain Brand Management and many more. Basically this is that one department under B. design in NIFT, which just doesn't deal with production of clothes but is involved in all the other aspects.

Being a student from NIFT itself, I wont disagree that the course is pretty expensive but then as compared to other colleges it's cheaper. Leaving that apart, in the fashion industry, no one gets a placement like an MBA student does in the start. But it is definitely worth it in the long run if you do well in the industry.

Among the three colleges you have mentioned that is NIFT, MAEER and MIT Institute of Design, according to my research and own experience, NIFT, Delhi is best to pursue fashion designing. NIFT provides Bachelor of Design degree in fashion designing after a 4 year course.

Hello Muskan,
It's very nice to know your dream of working in field of fashion designing. If you can both courses simultaneously then you can think of it. But both are very intense courses.

Yes, that's possible if you have the courage of spending 10-15 lakhs after your B.Com and if you have the courage of studying for 4 more years.
