Both, mass communication and fashion design has a good scope but you cannot compare both of them as these are totally different fields. Any course turns out to be a great course if you put 100% efforts of yours.
Mass communication deals with journalism, public relations, advertising and media research and much more, whereas fashion designing is all about creative thoughts and how you present them. You should have a very good drawing if you wish to get into fashion designing.
Think again and ponder over the thought that which field interests you the most and then get into it.

NIFT conducts a private exam of its own in which you whichever rank you get, you'll be assigned colleges accordingly. You can get admissions in other centres of NIFT as well.

If you want to go for fashion designing, there are some colleges which offer fashion design course. Some of the best colleges for fashion design are NIFT, NID and pearl academy. In all these colleges there are entrance tests which you have to clear. After completing 4 years of design course you will be a fashion designer.

Hi,
It is different for different institutes. Admission forms of institutes like NID, NIFT and PEARL will be out around November and December and will have their entrances around December & February.
For exact details of entrances, you will have to visit the website of the institutes you are interested in.
