No, all the questions in the GAT question paper will be objective-type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. GAT question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answers. Candidates will have to attempt the 200 questions in 60 minutes. There will be no sectional time limit to attempt the GAT exam sections. GAT 2026 exam will be held multiple times in a year in computer-based mode across 27 cities in India.

As per the GITAM Management Admission Test (GAT) marking scheme, for every correct answer candidate will get one mark. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. For every wrong answer 1/3 of the mark will be deducted. There will be no negative marking for not attempted questions. As per the GAT 2026 exam pattern, the question paper will consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), of one mark each. There will be no sectional time limit. Candidates can start answering from any section they are comfortable with. The GAT BBA exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes.

As per the GAT exam pattern there is no sectional time limit. GAT BBA question paper will consist of four sections, namely:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning and Intelligence
  • General Knowledge

Candidates will be required to attempt all four sections within the given time duration. GAT exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes or one hour. GAT sections will consist of 100 questions in total. Candidates must device strategy to attempt maximum questions within the given time duration.

Some of important topics for GAT English Language section are: Verbal Reasoning, Sentence completion, Fill In the Blanks, One word substitution, Contextual usage, Syllogisms, Sentence correction, Idioms, Analogies, Different usage of same word, Jumbled paragraphs, Foreign language words used in English.

Candidates preparing for GAT exam must make sure to follow eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Candidates failing to meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified.

For BBA

  • Candidate must have completed Class 12 or an equivalent examination for BBA admissions.
  • The examination should be recognised by the eductaion board.
  • Student must have successfully passed this examination GAT or UGAT to be eligible to apply.

For MBA

  • Student must have a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 50% marks in total. 
  • Candidate must have completed the UG course in minimum three years duration.

No, candidates will not be able to change the GAT exam centre once the application form is submitted. GITAM Deemed to be University does not provide any provision for GAT application form correction window. Candidates filling the application form must carefully enter the details. The GAT 2026 registration will commence online and the last date of registration for MBA and BBA will be announced in December 2025.
