The GATE COAP is mainly conducted in five rounds, during which students can accept or reject the offers from the participating institutes. Optional rounds are available from Round 6 to 10. These rounds are treated as independent decisive rounds, where candidates can only accept, freeze, or reject. The GATE COAP Round I registration starts from May 17. Candidates are advised to go through all the instructions and guidelines before registering for the GATE counselling.

IIST Trivandrum MTech cutoff 2026 was published for admission to round 2 for different All India and categories and different MTech course specialisations. For the General AI category, the last round score varied between 388 and 548. As per this range, M.Tech. in VLSI and Microsystems and M.Tech in Manufacturing Technology were the most and least preferred MTech course specialisations. 

Students can check the table below to know the last round cutoff score for all other courses. Please know that other categories, rounds, etc, will have different cutoffs.

For M.Tech admissions at GCT Coimbatore, you'll need a qualifying GATE score, with the minimum qualifying marks ranging from approximately 25 to 30 marks out of 100 for general category students, cutoff generally changes every year there is no fixed cutoff for any College it depend on various factors and according it is decided you may check it with the new trending according

Yes, it is possible to get M.Tech admissions with low GATE scores. However, it depends on certain factors, such as category, low cutoff drops in spot-counselling rounds. If you are aiming for NITs, then newly established NITs can be a good option.

IISc Bangalore will release the GATE 2026 cutoff for M.Tech admissions on its official website the declaration of results. Candidates can check the GATE IISc CS, ME, DA, ME, XL, and EE cutoff scores. Candidates applying for M.Tech at IISc through GATE register to receive COAP ID.

The minimum GATE score to get admission to IIT Bombay for M.Tech can depend on the branch applying for. However, the expected minimum GATE score (on the basis of past year cutoff trends) is 710 to 750+. This is the cutoff score for top branches like CSE, and ME. It can vary for differet subjects/branches.

Scoring 850 in GATE is exceptional as it creates a pathway for admissions to TOP IITs and NITs. It is also considered a great score for PSU recruitment through GATE. There are many PSUs that accept GATE scores in their recruitment process. Some of the top PSUs in India that accept GATE scores for recruitment are as follows -

  • Airport Authority of India (AAI)
  • Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)
  • Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL)
  • Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL)
