Yes, during their last recruitment cycle, DMRC was indeed recruiting through GATE score. But, for next cycle, you will have to keep track of the process.

FPM is doctorate equivalent degree. You need to have a Master's degree to apply for FPM.

This decision will depend a lot on your interest areas & career aspirations.
CAT will get you admission into MBA and make your a techno-commercial person whereas GATE will give you an opportunity to pursue a Masters programme in engineering and further strengthen your technical skills which will help you for a career in research & academics.

The cut off for GATE depends on the institute and it varies every year.
And there are caste wise cut off marks too.
Generally for the top IITs, the cut off would be above 60/100.
