In GATE 2017, the Syllabus for Chemical Engineering is divided into following nine sections-
Section 1: Engineering Mathematics
Section 2: Process Calculations and Thermodynamics
Section 3: Fluid Mechanics and Mechanical Operations
Section 4: Heat Transfer
Section 5: Mass Transfer
Section 6: Chemical Reaction Engineering
Section 7: Instrumentation and Process Control
Section 8: Plant Design and Economics
Section 9: Chemical Technology
You will also have general aptitude test (GA). For detailed syllabus with all sub topics, refer:
www.gate.iitr.ernet.in

Yes, both B.E. and B.Tech Candidate can apply for GATE exam as there is no difference between BE and B.Tech degree just a different name for engineering degree.

GATE exam can be given after B.Tech. Based on your GATE score, you will be given colleges for pursuing your M.Tech and it will also help you in getting better jobs.

No, it is not necessary, but GATE is an important exam to improve our skill, and I think GATE is compulsory for graduation. And it helps you in achieve good rank in PSU under direct basis of GATE and you are eligible to get job.

You must join a coaching institute for GATE 2018 batch. You must take a crash course. You can also join the test series for GATE exam in 2018 batch. Better to join Made Easy coaching.
