The GATE exam is conducted over multiple days in two shifts. This year, IIT Guwahati is the organising institute and has scheduled the GATE exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. Considering the IIT Dhanbad M.Tech cutoff 2024, the last-round stood between 232 and 711 for the General AI category candidates. Among all the courses, M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering stands out as the most preferable choice for admission among the students belonging to the General AI quota. The last-round cutoff of the same stood at 711 in 2024.

For the OBC category students, the M.Tech cutoff 2024 varied between 664 and 304, wherein, still, M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was the most sought-after specialisation in the AI quota.
