Yes, mostly! Most public universities don't have tuition fees. You only pay a semester fee for things like your bus pass and admin costs. But, if you go to a private school or study in certain states like Baden-Württemberg, you will have to pay.

Most students earn €13–€16 per hour. If you do a Minijob, you can earn up to €556 per month (2025 limit) without paying taxes. As a Werkstudent, you can earn more but must pay some social security.

No, it is easy not to get admission in Germany public universities. Universities like TU Chemnitz or TU Ilmenau have a High Acceptance Rate for Indian students. You need to qualify the requirements.

Students would need to have INR 12.6 L in their blocked account to be eligible for a student visa in Germany. This is needed to prove you have enough money to fund your studies in Germany. The application fees for a German student visa is INR 8 K. Health Insurance is also mandatory in Germany. For that, INR 10.6 K-INR 15.9 K are needed.

Heidelberg University does not charge an application fee for both UG and PG programs. Indian students must meet all the admission requirements at the university. Indian students can apply via University Official Website for both UG and PG programs.
